1-30-25 THOUGHTS
Some excerpts from David’s 139th Psalm this morning. We speak of “abiding in God’s Presence”, and of “Practicing the Presence of God!” The Bible shows us that God wants a relationship with His creation. Jesus suggests that it should be an “Abba” relationship... a very close intimate relationship. In verse 17 below, “How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!” If our minds and hearts can get to the level of “PRECIOUS”, maybe we can see and know the realms of BLESSEDNESS our God has in store for us? Let’s pray that this awesome relationship with our God can come to be ours continually and always.
Ps 139:1-7 O LORD, You have searched me and known me. 2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar. 3 You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are intimately acquainted with all my ways. 4 Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, O LORD, You know it all. 5 You have enclosed me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot attain to it. 7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?
Ps 139:17-18 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You.
Ps 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; 24 And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.
My Prayer:
Lord, help us absorb the ideas above. We desire to be close to You at all times and in all ways. May Your mind be precious in our being as we seek You eternally. Your grace and mercy and love has given us life in Christ Jesus. Help us, O God, to live alive. Search us and try us, O Lord, and remove from us the things that impede true life. May we let Your seed do its work. With open arms, and power in our spirits, help us to accept the Great YOU. In the name of Jesus who saves, Amen.
